Accutane (Isotretinoin)

Accutane is a powerful retinoid that reduces sebum (oil) production in the skin. It is the most effective treatment for severe acne that does not respond to topical treatments or antibiotics. Many steroid users run low-dose Accutane (10 to 20mg per day) alongside their cycles to prevent acne breakouts, rather than waiting to treat them after they appear.

Higher doses (40 to 80mg per day) are used for existing severe acne but require careful monitoring. Common side effects include dry skin, dry lips, and joint stiffness. Adequate water intake, lip balm, and moisturiser are essential during use. Accutane should not be used during pregnancy.
